Fareed Zakaria is the host of CNN’s flagship international affairs program Fareed Zakaria GPS, an editor-at-large and a columnist for TIME magazine, and a columnist for The Washington Post. Zakaria is also a highly regarded author and has written several international best sellers.

Zakaria was editor of Newsweek International from 2000 to 2010 and a columnist for Newsweek. From 1992 to 2010, he was managing editor of Foreign Affairs, a leading journal of international politics and economics. He was an analyst for ABC News, a roundtable member of the ABC News political affairs program This Week with George Stephanopoulos, and a host of Foreign Exchange with Fareed Zakaria on PBS.

Zakaria’s work has been recognized with numerous honors including the prestigious Peabody Award, and he has been named to distinguished lists such as Foreign Policy magazine's "Top 100 Global Thinkers" and Newsweek magazine's "Power 50" of the most influential political figures of 2010.

Born in India, Zakaria went on to receive a B.A. from Yale College and a Ph.D. in political science from Harvard University.
