September 26 at 1 PM: Driving Global Growth
David Malpass served as U.S. Treasury Undersecretary for International Affairs in 2017-2019 and as World Bank President in 2019-2023, following 24 years as a leading Wall Street economist and columnist with Forbes and the Wall Street Journal. He is a Distinguished Fellow in International Finance with Purdue University in Indiana and Washington DC. His consulting and public speaking activities focus on economics, markets, geopolitics and leadership. From 1984-1993, Mr. Malpass served in political appointments in Treasury, State and Congressional committees.

October 16 at 1 PM: Leading from the Front, Behind or Not at All? US Challenges after conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza
Dr. Carla Ann Robbins, a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), where she leads a roundtable series on national security in an age of disruption and is co-host of The World Next Week podcast. She is also Marxe faculty director of the master of international affairs program and clinical professor of national security studies at Baruch College’s Marxe School of Public and International Affairs.

December 10 at 1 PM: The War in Ukraine: When (and How) Will It End?
Dr. Michael O’Hanlon, a senior fellow and director of research in Foreign Policy at the Brookings Institution, where he specializes in U.S. defense strategy, the use of military force, and American national security policy.. He also serves as a member of the Defense Policy Board at the U.S. Department of Defense. O’Hanlon was a member of the external advisory board at the Central Intelligence Agency from 2011-12. O’Hanlon’s latest book, “Military History for the Modern Strategist: America’s Major Wars Since 1861” was published in January 2023.

January 15 at 1 PM: U.S.-China Rivalry and the Changing World Order
Susan Thornton, a retired senior U.S. diplomat with almost 30 years of experience with the U.S. State Department in Eurasia and East Asia. She is currently a senior fellow and research scholar at the Paul Tsai China Center at Yale University Law School; director of the Forum on Asia-Pacific Security at the National Committee on American Foreign Policy; and a nonresident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. Until July 2018, Thornton was acting assistant secretary for East Asian and Pacific Affairs at the Department of State and led East Asia policymaking amid crises with North Korea, escalating trade tensions with China, and a fast-changing international environment.

March 12 at 1 PM: The Art of Diplomacy
Ambassador Stuart E. Eizenstat, who held a number of key government positions, including Chief White House Domestic Policy Adviser to President Jimmy Carter (1977-1981); U.S. Ambassador to the European Union, Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, Under Secretary of State for Economic, Business and Agricultural Affairs, and Deputy Secretary of the Treasury in the Clinton Administration (1993-2001). Ambassador Eizenstat is currently Senior Counsel in Covington & Burling LLP’s international practice. His work focuses on resolving international trade problems and business disputes with the U.S. and foreign governments. He is the author of several books, most recently: “The Art of Diplomacy: How American Negotiators Reached Historic Agreements That Changed the World “(2024).
