ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Ambassador Karen Kornbluh (Ret.) is Managing Director at the German Marshall Fund of the U.S. where she leads the Digital Innovation and Democracy Initiative. The goal of her work is to ensure technology supports democracies around the globe. Her previous service as U.S. Ambassador to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris was featured in The New York Times profile entitled "Fighting for Economic Equality." She is well-regarded for her work on behalf of working families and global digital agreements. 

Kornbluh began her career as an economic forecaster at Townsend-Greenspan and later held the position of executive vice president at the global data firm Nielsen. She has published articles in Foreign Affairs, The Washington Post, and The New York Times. Today, Ambassador Kornbluh chairs the Open Technology Fund, a government-funded nonprofit organization advancing global Internet freedom. 

Kornbluh earned a B.A. from Bryn Mawr College, and her M.A. of Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. She is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
