Yun Sun is Director of the China Program and Co-Director of the East Asia Program at the Washington, D.C.-based Henry L. Stimson Center, an organization pioneering new steps toward stability and security through applied research and independent analysis. Yun Sun carries out cutting-edge research on issues of China’s domestic politics and foreign policy, with a special focus on its foreign relations, including its industrial policy, political risks, foreign investment and foreign aid; elite politics; and its decision-making process. Yun Sun is also a non-resident fellow at the Brookings Institution, Global Development Program, where she is the key resource on China and Africa relations. From 2008 to 2011, Yun was the China Analyst for the International Crisis Group (ICG) based in Beijing. she earned her M.A. in international policy and practice from George Washington University, as well as an M.A. in Asia Pacific studies and a B.A. in international relations from Foreign Affairs College in Beijing. She is a Ph.D. candidate in Asia Studies at the School for Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins.
