Lori Esposito Murray, Ph.D. is a distinguished expert in national security, nuclear strategy, and arms control, with a career spanning senior leadership roles in government, academia, and the nonprofit sector.
She previously served as President of the Committee for Economic Development, where she directed strategic research on major geopolitical and economic challenges. She also held the distinguished national security chair at the U.S. Naval Academy and served as President and CEO of the World Affairs Councils of America, where she now holds the title of President Emeritus.
Her bipartisan government service includes serving as Special Advisor to the President on the Chemical Weapons Convention and as Assistant Director for Multilateral Affairs at the U.S. Arms Control and Disarmament Agency, where she led negotiations on nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons issues. She also advised national commissions on weapons of mass destruction and served as National Security Advisor to U.S. Senate.
Dr. Murray holds a B.A. from Yale University and a Ph.D. from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
