About the Speaker
Dewardric L. McNeal is a former Obama Administration appointee to the U.S. Department of Defense, where he worked on East Asia and China security relations. Before joining the administration, he served as Assistant Director for International Programs at the Brookings Institution’s John L. Thornton China Center, helping establish its first foreign joint research center in Beijing. After government service, McNeal focused on Africa-China-U.S. trade and economic relations, later serving as Director of Global Strategy and Policy at OIC International and founding Longview Global, LLC, where he advises corporations and governments on national security, trade, and policy issues. He is also a frequent commentator on international affairs for global media outlets.
