Dr. Courtney Smith

Dean of the School of Diplomacy and International Relations at Seton Hall University, where he has been a faculty member since 1999. He achieved tenure in 2005 and served as Acting Dean from 2019 to 2022. Dr. Smith has written extensively on the U.N. and its political processes, including his book Politics and Process at the United Nations: The Global Dance (2006) and the article "Every Silver Lining Has a Cloud" (2020). He serves on the boards of the Academic Council on the United Nations System and the American Conference of Academic Deans. Dr. Smith holds a Ph.D. in Political Science and International Relations from The Ohio State University.
