ABOUT THE SPEAKER: 

Martin S. Indyk is a distinguished fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. Previously, he was a distinguished fellow in international diplomacy at the Brookings Institution, and also served as executive vice president.  From July 2013 to June 2014, Indyk was the U.S. special envoy for the Israeli-Palestinian negotiations. Twice, he served as the U.S. ambassador to Israel: 1995 to 1997 and 2000 to 2001. Among other postings, Indyk had worked as special assistant to President Bill Clinton and as senior director for Near East and South Asian affairs at the National Security Council, 1993 to 1995.  His most recent book is Master of the Game: Henry Kissinger and the Art of Middle East Diplomacy (2021).
