About the Speaker

Sanjay Reddy is an Associate Professor of Economics at The New School for Social Research. His expertise includes development economics, microeconomics, and the intersection of economics and philosophy. Reddy has served as an advisor to the United Nations on multiple issues including economic and social development, the statistics of poverty, and the right to food. He is a co-founder of the Global Consumption and Income Project tracking the evolution of poverty within and across countries. In addition to his academic publications, Reddy has been quoted or had opinion articles published in Barron’s, The Boston Globe, The Economist, Foreign Policy, Financial Times, The Hindu, and The New York Review of Books, among others.
