His Royal Highness Prince Turki Al Faisal is a member of the House of Saud, the royal family of Saudi Arabia. He was appointed as an Advisor at the Royal Court in 1973.
HRH served as the Director General (with a rank of Minister) of the General Intelligence Directorate, Saudi Arabia’s main foreign intelligence service, from 1977 until 2001. In October 2002, HRH was appointed as the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Ireland. He served that post until July 2005, when he was appointed as Ambassador to the United States. He retired in February 2007.
HRH Prince Turki is a founder and trustee of the King Faisal Foundation, one of the largest philanthropic foundations in the world. He is also the Chairman of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies.
HRH is a trustee of the Oxford Islamic Center at Oxford University and the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies at Georgetown University. He is a commissioner at the International Commission on Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament. For the past several years HRH has been a visiting Distinguished Professor at Georgetown University, which he graduated from in 1968.
