ABOUT THE TOPIC
Many people are trying to envisage how and when the war between Ukraine and Russia can end and under what conditions. There does not appear to be an easy solution. Calling a truce, a ceasefire, or an armistice does not seem possible or perhaps even sustainable. Critical issues are at stake. What better person to address the future of American foreign policy and Ukraine than Gideon Rose, the author of the book, How Wars End?
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Gideon Rose is currently the Mary and David Boies distinguished fellow in U.S. foreign policy at the Council on Foreign Relations. Dr. Rose’s editorial experience and exposure are vast and deep as he served for 11 years (2010 – 2021) as Editor of Foreign Affairs, prior to which he was managing editor from 2000 to 2010. He also served as associate director for Near East and South Asian Affairs on the staff of the National Security Council and was deputy director of National Security Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations. He has taught American foreign policy at Princeton and Columbia. He received his B.A. from Yale University and his Ph.D. from Harvard University.
